Give yourself plenty of time to defrost your fridge and freezer before moving day.

Dry and clean

Fridges, freezers, and other white goods tend to attract a lot of nasty mould and mildew. This is why it is extremely important to thoroughly clean and dry the inside and outside of your white goods before placing them into storage.

Wrap and protect

If you have any smaller appliances like microwaves, we recommend wrapping them in bubble wrap and their original boxes.

Don’t tape

Never use packing tape on white goods, as it will most likely leave marks that will be difficult to remove at a later date.

It may sound crazy, but putting charcoal inside your fridge or freezer will actually help prevent mould growing over time. Placing a deodorizer or a box of baking soda inside is another way to keep your white goods fresh while they’re in storage.

Take care

Electrical appliances are extremely delicate and should always be handled with care. Always move and store your fridge in an upright position, as laying it on its side could damage it. Also, ensure you leave fridge doors slightly ajar when in storage.

Leave the heavy lifting to the professionals

Fridges and freezers can be particularly heavy items. They are also difficult to maneuver through tight doorways and down stairs. If you aren’t confident you can do the job yourself, leave it to professional removalists.
